This helpline is run as part of the Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS) contract and our staff deliver it 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We offer confidential support, information and access to emergency accommodation for women and men experiencing domestic violence. The lines are also available for agencies wanting to make a referral to one of LDVS or Leeds Women’s Aid services or to learn more about the options available to people experiencing domestic abuse.

The 24/7 helpline:

The helpline is staffed at all times including evenings, weekends and bank holidays by Leeds Women’s Aid workers working within LDVS, and callers can access support or to access emergency accommodation. We also take referrals for one of the domestic violence services across Leeds and work in partnership with HALT, Behind Closed Doors and Womens Health Matters.

LDVS offers the following services that can be accessed: This is also the gateway for all self and agency referrals to all Leeds Domestic Violence Service, offering:

  • Support from Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs);
  • Support from Community DV Practitioners;
  • Groups, drop-ins and courses for women;
  • Emergency accommodation

People needing support who are unable for any reason to contact us by phone can text on 07825 156 087, or email us on administration@leedswomensaid.org.uk. These services are available Monday-Friday, 9.30am – 5pm (except bank holidays).

If you cannot get through please leave a message with details of a safe time to call you back, a worker will return your call as soon as possible.
